TikTok Takeover: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Our Creative Challenge

Earlier this month, our team took part in an exciting challenge inspired by The Apprentice, with our MD, Chris, and Sales & Marketing Director, Alex, stepping in as the judges. The task? To create a series of TikTok videos that showcased NetMaxRes’s core values of creativity, passion, intelligence, friendship and collaboration.

We’re always running workshops for clients, from TikTok content days to LinkedIn training sessions, so we thought it was time to put our skills to the test and have a bit of fun ourselves! It was a fantastic day packed with fun and a whole lot of creativity as we brainstormed, filmed, and edited TikToks that highlighted what makes our team so special.

The winning video came from the dynamic trio of Aaron, Luke, and Marcus, whose reel embodied the essence of friendship, creativity, and collaboration. From the initial storyboard phase to the final cut, their video perfectly captured the energy and friendship that fuels NetMaxRes, making it a well-deserved winner!

The day was a fantastic reminder of how our core values aren’t just buzzwords but are lived out in everything we do, from client work right through to getting together as a team to have fun. And yes, we’ve learned one important lesson for next time: we need more teaspoons in the office!

NetMaxRes Delivers On-the-Ground TikTok Training for Heidelberg Materials

At NetMaxRes, we thrive on challenges, especially when it comes to helping industry leaders like Heidelberg Materials explore new digital spaces. Heidelberg Materials, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of building materials, already had a strong presence on Instagram and LinkedIn. However, their marketing team was eager to expand their reach to a younger audience on TikTok, aiming to increase brand awareness and engagement in a bid to encourage more younger people into the industry.

We began our support with a comprehensive virtual training session focused on TikTok fundamentals. We covered everything from understanding the platform’s unique features to exploring trending content, and emphasised the importance of storyboarding to plan effective videos. Our goal was to equip the Heidelberg team with the skills and confidence to create polished, engaging TikTok content.

Next, we took our training on-site to Whatley Quarry in Frome, one of Heidelberg’s key locations. The quarry provided an ideal backdrop for filming, offering an authentic behind-the-scenes look at life within the company. We spent the day capturing a variety of footage, including “day in the life” clips and fun, candid moments that showcased the dynamic work environment at Heidelberg.

Throughout the filming process, we provided hands-on guidance, teaching effective filming techniques, the best angles for captivating shots, and how to use transitions to enhance the videos. The content highlighted the diverse roles within the company and shared everyday employee experiences, giving viewers a fresh perspective on the construction industry. This approach aimed to make the field more approachable and attractive to potential recruits.

The visit was a success, leaving Heidelberg’s team with a strong bank of content ready to launch on TikTok. Shortly after going live, their new channel began gaining traction, with one video alone reaching more than 15,000 views!

Supporting Heidelberg Materials in their TikTok journey was an exciting project for us at NetMaxRes. By combining strategic training with practical, on-the-ground support, we helped them navigate a new platform and effectively connect with a younger audience. We’re thrilled to see their TikTok presence grow, reaching new viewers and shifting perceptions about the construction industry.

We’ve been nominated in the UK Social Media Awards!

We’re thrilled to announce we have been nominated at the UK Social Media Awards in the ‘Best Integrated Campaign’ category for our work with PK Education on its ‘Helen’s Place’ campaign.

PK Education, a dedicated specialist recruitment consultant, focuses on primary, secondary and SEN schools across the UK. Their commitment to adding value and providing resources for their clients and candidates is unwavering, furthering personal development.

The campaign focused on PK Education’s partnership with Dr Helen Ross – a former PK Education Special Needs supply teacher and leading specialist in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Dyslexia and neurodiversities.

PK Education’s aim for the partnership was to deliver meaningful training for existing and potential candidates and clients tackling the challenges within SEND provision, initially through a series of online workshops with the ultimate goal of hosting an in-person event.

We played a crucial role in this partnership, providing comprehensive support with an integrated campaign that encompassed creative design, videography, organic social media, and digital advertising.

The aims of the campaign were to raise awareness of SEND and the importance of inclusive education, provide valuable resources and tools and drive organic leads and sign ups to the educational workshop.

For this campaign alone, we helped PK gain nearly 20% new followers expanding its community, an engagement rate of over 2,800 impressions and engagement rate of 9.73% (well above the industry average).

Responsibilities

Typical day-to-day activities could include:

  • Be the point of contact for a range of NetMaxRes clients, providing marketing expertise tailored to clients’ needs
  • Liaising with clients via telephone, email, conference calls or face-to-face
  • Overseeing ongoing tasks and project work delivered by team members across social media and digital advertising platforms
  • Developing creative and engaging organic social media strategies
  • Reviewing and refining paid digital advertising activity for clients
  • Monitoring, tracking, analysing and reporting on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights
  • Supporting our Social Media experts with creative ideas and content creation for channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels
  • Supporting the winning of new business by being involved in pitching to prospects, but also by up-selling to existing clients
  • Attending client events and industry conferences as required
