NetMaxRes Delivers On-the-Ground TikTok Training for Heidelberg Materials

At NetMaxRes, we thrive on challenges, especially when it comes to helping industry leaders like Heidelberg Materials explore new digital spaces. Heidelberg Materials, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of building materials, already had a strong presence on Instagram and LinkedIn. However, their marketing team was eager to expand their reach to a younger audience on TikTok, aiming to increase brand awareness and engagement in a bid to encourage more younger people into the industry.

We began our support with a comprehensive virtual training session focused on TikTok fundamentals. We covered everything from understanding the platform’s unique features to exploring trending content, and emphasised the importance of storyboarding to plan effective videos. Our goal was to equip the Heidelberg team with the skills and confidence to create polished, engaging TikTok content.

Next, we took our training on-site to Whatley Quarry in Frome, one of Heidelberg’s key locations. The quarry provided an ideal backdrop for filming, offering an authentic behind-the-scenes look at life within the company. We spent the day capturing a variety of footage, including “day in the life” clips and fun, candid moments that showcased the dynamic work environment at Heidelberg.

Throughout the filming process, we provided hands-on guidance, teaching effective filming techniques, the best angles for captivating shots, and how to use transitions to enhance the videos. The content highlighted the diverse roles within the company and shared everyday employee experiences, giving viewers a fresh perspective on the construction industry. This approach aimed to make the field more approachable and attractive to potential recruits.

The visit was a success, leaving Heidelberg’s team with a strong bank of content ready to launch on TikTok. Shortly after going live, their new channel began gaining traction, with one video alone reaching more than 15,000 views!
